Acting Proficiencies – Fall 2018

Please make sure that you take the time to come to the TMA Office on the 5th floor, D-wing of the HFAC as soon as possible to sign up for your acting and MDT proficiencies. The TMA Office is open from 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. See the flyer below for more specific details about available dates and times for proficiencies.

The College Faith + Works Lecture series continues on November 1 with Department of Art Professor Joe Ostraff. Designed for students, the F + W series features faculty conversations that explore how their professional experiences help build their faith.

Professor Ostraff’s lecture will focus on his experiences with collaboration and partnership and how these experiences have affected his relationships exponentially. Ostraff will discuss how collaboration can be a platform for shifting one’s point of view.

Job Opportunity 2018: Media Arts Lab Job Openings

The Media Arts Lab currently has a number of student job openings and we are looking for Media Arts Students to fill them. Here are the jobs we are looking to fill:

1. MAL Access Student Manager

  • Assist the Media Arts Administrator in managing the Media Arts Labs
  • Create Agenda and Minutes for the Media Arts Lab Meetings
  • Manage door access to labs
  • May be asked to work at Checkout or FSSS
  • Good organization skills needed
  • Ability to follow-up and complete tasks as asked

2. HFAC Checkout Attendant

  • Attend to students checking out equipment at the HFAC Media Arts Checkout
  • Organize and maintain film equipment
  • Train students on equipment
  • Must have a good knowledge of film equipment – Able to repair a plus
  • Looking for someone with great customer service skills
  • NOTE: we are specifically looking for someone who could work Saturdays from 9am-12pm as well as other hours during the week

3. High End Editing Lab Assistant

  • Maintain the High-End Editing Lab and Open Lab computers and servers.
  • Maintain the department DIT kits
  • Computer support for students using editing stations
  • Must have a good knowledge of editing systems and computers. Networking experience would be a plus.
