“Curtains” is a musical parody of 1950s “whodunnit” theater mysteries, where a lone detective, Lieutenant Frank Cioffi, investigates a series of murders that take place place behind the scenes of a fictional 1950s cowboy musical, “Robbin’ Hood.” The cast of “Robbin’ Hood” is forced to stay inside the theater while Boston police detective Frank Cioffi unravels the mystery, getting involved with the show and falling in love with ingenue Niki Harris in the process.

“Curtains” will be directed by Denise Gull and choreographed by Kassidy Gull.

WHEN: April 4 and 6 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. (callbacks April 8 by invitation only)

WHERE: old West Jordan Library (1970 W. 7800 S.)

WHO: Men and women 16 years old and up (no children). 16- and 17-year-old auditioners will be considered but must look older.

HOW: Come prepared to sing 16 bars of an upbeat Broadway-style song (pianist provided), dance, and possibly to do cold readings from the script. Bring a theater resume and headshot if possible.

Performances will be June 22, 23, 24 (matinee), 24, 26, 29, 30, July 1 at the Midvale Performing Arts Center (695 W Center Street, Midvale).

Auditions for Murray City Arts in the Park, The Music Man will be held Tuesday, May 9th, and Thursday, May 11th from 6:30 – 9:00pm At Murray High Schools Little Theater. Auditions are for ages 10 and older. Families may audition with exception to the age rule if parent will be accompanying small children at all times.

Children auditioning for Winthrop or Amaryllis must appear to be 10 years or younger.

Those that are auditioning should prepare 16 bars from a Broadway song in the style of the show. An accompanist will be provided or you may bring a CD or use a playback device.

Come prepared to demonstrate some basic choreography which will be taught at the audition.

Callbacks will be Saturday, May 13th, at 9:00am in the dance studio at MHS where you will be asked to sing songs from the show and read from the script.

Rehearsals will start in June, after graduation.

Will Saxton will be directing the show which will be performed July 27-Aug 2 excluding Sunday.

Auditions will be held on Saturday, April 8th from 9:00am-12:00pm at The Draper Historical Theatre, 12366 South 900 East, Draper UT.  Directed by Diedra Celeste Miranda.  Diedra is from Los Angeles with over 30 productions to her credit, including 10 productions at the original and historic Glendale Centre Theatre, the parent theatre of all the Hale theatres in Utah and Arizona.

This is an open call for Saturday.  Callbacks will be by invitation only, and will be held on Tuesday, April 11th from 7:00pm-10:00pm.

All roles are open.

PLEASE BRING HEADSHOT AND RESUME.  Sides will be provided at the theatre.

PERFORMANCES are June 9, 10, 12, 16, 17(2:00pm&7:00pm) 19, 23, 24, 26.  All shows are at 7:00pm with one additional matinee on the 17th at 2:00pm.

REHEARSALS begin on April 25th on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 7:00-10:00pm.  And on Saturday mornings from 9:00am-12:00pm.

There is no pay.

This post is an invitation to a PRE-AUDITION meeting about an upcoming documentary by KBYU television about the Utah War 1857-58.  We are hoping to do several re-enactments and are looking for adult actors, principals and extras (mainly men ages 20 – 50) who may be interested in participating.  An audition will be forthcoming but if you would like information, you are invited to a meeting on Wednesday, April 5th at 6:00PM at BYU Broadcasting, 701 E. AUDITIONS for “The Importance of Being Earnest”, by Oscar Wilde, will be March 30 and 31, 7-9pm, at the Old Grantsville Church Dinner Theatre, 297 West Clark Street.
