Help Wanted – BYUB Post-Production Student Video Editor: Two positions available video editing for programs, promotions and other on-air items broadcast on KBYU, BYU-Television and BYU-TV International. May work with full-time producers to edit weekly programming. Work days and times are flexible. Candidate who excel may receive increased responsibility and resume-enhancing work. Knowledge of DVD Studio Pro is helpful. A second language in Spanish or Portuguese is helpful, not required. Qualifications include 2-3 years experience editing and working knowledge of Apple Final Cut Pro and related programs such as Adobe Photoshop. Also some experience editing videos for people other than themselves. Candidate must be reliable, on time, a problem solver, flexible, able to deal with change and have an attention to detail. The Student DVD Authoring Specialist will be directly involved in DVD production for BYUB programs and presentations. Candidates must be reliable, on time, flexible, and able to take projects from start to end. * Bluecat Screenplay Competition 2013 Online Workshop: Over the last few years, BlueCat has traveled the world to work directly with our writers to develop their screenplays and screenwriting tools at our workshops. Each writer must submit his/her screenplay to the workshop by January 24. There will be a limit of seven writers per workshop, just like our regular workshops. Familius Film Internship: Familius is a book/media publishing company in the family Improvement market. Familius is seeking two interns who want to gain experience promoting literature through video content while improving skills. Internship begins January 1, 2013 and ends March 31, 2013. ÉCU – The European Independent Film Festival Call for Submissions: Character-driven, plot-driven, or just plain driven, the European Film Festival continually searches for the most talented storytellers and cinematic visionaries. IFFF 2013 Call for Entries: The International Family Film Festival is holding its 18th annual event March 27-31, 2013 at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood, California. Inquiry Conference Call for Abstracts: For fifteen years, the BYU Field Studies’ International Inquiry Conference has served as a forum for students of all disciplines to present their cross-cultural field research and an opportunity for the university community to participate in discussions reaching beyond our campus to the international world. Call for Documentary Film Entries: The jury for the Popular Culture/American Culture Association’s Peter C. Rollins Documentary Award is currently accepting film and video documentary/nonfiction entries that treat aspects of popular and American culture. Selection for the Rollins Award will be based primarily on strength of message, creativity, technical innovation, and overall style. There is no entry fee. The award includes a $500 travel grant to assist winners in attending the conference. The winning work and a short program of finalists will be exhibited during the 2013 national Popular Culture/American Culture Associations’ meeting March 27-30, 2013, in Washington, DC. * Fitmixer Promotional Video Contest: Fitmixer® is a healthy lifestyle brand that promotes healthier living through diet, exercise, and supplementation. We produce several types of protein, meal replacement shakes and pre-workouts, which can be used to improve physical fitness and quality of living. We will be hosting a contest next semester in an effort to increase brand awareness via their YouTube channel. Visions Film Festival: Hosted by the Film Studies Department at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, Visions is the first international film festival and conference dedicated exclusively to showcasing and celebrating the work of undergraduate filmmakers and film scholars from universities around the world. Submit a film or a paper. For films, there is a regular deadline on January 7 ($25), and a late deadline on February 15 ($35).
