Job Opportunity: TA’s Needed 2018/2019!

Are you interested in being a TA for theatre critical studies classes?  Applications for Spring 2018, Fall 2018, and Winter 2019 are all due on April 20 to Lindsay Livingston’s box in the TMA Office (D-581 HFAC).  We strongly recommend that you speak with the instructor(s) of the course(s) you are interested in assisting for and inform them of your interest.

Courses that need TAs include TMA 111, 115, 140, 160, 201/202, 240, 301, 395.  Details about these positions are available on the applications.

Volunteer Opportunity: Anna 2018

Looking for a volunteer opportunity and a great chance to get some media arts experience? Well you’re in luck! One of the Media Arts capstone films for this semester is going to be a period piece with pioneers and Shoshone Native Americans. The media arts team is in need of volunteers with capabilities as set dressers/builders, props personnel, makeup/hair assistants, and wardrobe assistants. Once again, these positions are volunteer and the deadline to submit information for these positions is February 28. Please see the flyer below for contact information.

ACTING TRACK AUDITIONS & ACTING AND MDT PROFICIENCIES 2017

ALL THOSE STUDENTS INTERESTED IN BEING ACCEPTED INTO SPRING, SUMMER, and FALL ACTING CLASSES MUST AUDITION AT THIS TIME.

ALL THOSE NEEDING AN UPPER DIVISION COURSE MUST SIGN UP FOR PROFICIENCIES. IF SPACES ARE FULL, PLEASE COME EARLY IN THE DAY AND WE WILL WORK YOU INTO THE SCHEDULE. IF YOU SHOW UP AT THE END OF THE DAY THERE IS NO GUARANTEE YOU WILL BE SEEN.

IF YOU’RE GOING ON A MISSION, OR ON A TOUR AND WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR DECEMBER PROFICIENCIES FOR WINTER 2017 CLASSES, YOU NEED TO AUDITION THIS SEMESTER.

GENERAL INFORMATION:
*Auditions must be two contrasting monologues – preferably from a play – memorized – one comedy, one drama – together no longer than three minutes. (You will be stoped if overtime).

*SIGN-UP SHEETS AVAILABLE IN THE TMA OFFICE – D-581 HFAC

*Entrance to all acting classes above TMA 123/128 can only be obtained by completing a successful audition through the track proficiencies.

ACTING TRACK INFORMATION:
*All those interested in BFA Acting are required to audition and interview in order to determine their eligibility. Prerequisites are TMA 122, 123/128, 125.

*Students must successfully pass two proficiency auditions before their eligibility can be considered. If you have more than 60 credit hours, you may not be considered (Transfer students are the exception and are allowed two auditions).

*All current students on the acting track are required to perform their proficiencies at this time.

MDT INFORMATION:
*All MDT students interested in being considered for ay acting class above TMA 123/128 the following semester (including TMA 228, 223, 224, 322, 324, 422, 425 & 427), must audition at this time.

Sign up for auditions on the Theatre Board outside the Nelke. You need to sign up for an actor/singer call and attend the open dance call. You must do both.

For students performing in CHARIOTS OF FIRE and THE CRUCIBLE, please sign up for the closed call.

CLOSED CALL
Monday, April 3, 5:00pm-7:00pm, in B-201 HFAC
You will present your monologue and song between 5-6pm, and then learn a brief dance combination from 6-7pm, so come prepared for BOTH.

ACTOR/SINGER CALL:
Please prepare a comedic contemporary monologue, and a brief contemporary musical theatre song in the style of the show. Your monologue and song should demonstrate your personality and facility with words, and not run longer than 3 minutes combined.
Singing Sondheim is preferred but not necessary.
Please bring your headshot/resume and songbook in case you are asked to sing a second selection. An accompanist will be provided.

DANCE CALL
Come prepared to learn a simple dance combination. Please come dressed appropriately, warmed-up, and ready to move.
